16/4/18

Welcome back!

This term our theme is Voyages. We have lots of exciting learning planned - an overview of this can be found via the attachment below. This overview will indicate the areas of the curriculum we are covering through this theme so you will have a great understanding of the steps to success.

We are also trialling a very exciting, innovative way to showcase our work. This is through learning journals. The children will stick in all of their work related to Theme in their journal (Art, Music, English, Science, Geography and History). The reason behind doing this is so that we can see the rich broad curriculum journey in one book. However, Maths, Guided Reading and RE books will still be used in addition to our journals.

We look forward to our summer learning and we hope you enjoyed your 2 week break!

Your 'Eagles' Teachers. smiley

Voyages curriculum overview

Alice in Wonderland - School Production.

The children have started rehearsing songs and looking at the script for our upcoming production. Year 3/4 children will be putting on the production of Alice next term and we can't wait to get underway with our rehearsals.

Blenheim Palace - Prize giving

Children from Eagles classes won a group award for the Winston Churchill work that we sent off to Blenheim Palace. Megan won an individual prize for her gorgeous art work.  As a reward for all our hard work, one child from each class went with Miss Rodgers and Mrs Tustin to Blenheim Palace for afternoon tea. We enjoyed a lovely day out, accepting a prize from the Duchess of Marlborough and viewing the children's art work on display in the education room at Blenheim Palace.

Those who stayed behind had a jolly good time too as we hosted an afternoon tea party in the hall with lovely scones baked by the children and Mrs Miles. The children dressed in ties and bows that they made themselves. A lovely day was had by all.
