Falcon Classes - Years 1 & 2

Welcome back to the Falcon's page!

Our theme for Summer Term is:

Splendid Skies!

This Term we will be investigating seasonal changes. We are going to find out about the types of weather we may experience, not only here in the United Kingdom, but also elsewhere in the world.

We will also be heading out on a ‘Nature’s Treasures’ walk around our school grounds to search for seasonal signs.

Welcome back to the Falcon's page!

Our theme for Spring Term was:

Dinosaur Planet!

Last term we explored dinosaur planet! We pretended we were paleontologists and discovered many astonishing dinosaur facts!

We also visited the Oxford Museum of Natural History and the New Central Oxford Library. The children took part in an inspiring workshop lead by members of the Museum’s award winning education team- it was amazing!. Finally we headed over to the library and explored the collection of dinosaur themed books, listened to dinosaur poems and learnt more about libraries!

Our theme for Autumn Term was:

Bright Lights, Big City!

In Autumn Term the Falcon classes stepped back in time to see what really happened in

The Great Fire of London...

Where did it start?

How did it end?

We started our learning by looking at the island we live on. We used atlases to name, locate and identify the characteristics of the 4 countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom and its surrounding seas. Before moving on to look at the key build up to the fire.

Do you recognise any of these famous London landmarks?

Our Value this term is Truthfulness. Proverbs 12:22 'The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.' Enquiring minds, caring hearts, creatibe hands
