Indoor Athletics Competition
On Wednesday 9th December Mr Rhys took fourteen children to the indoor athletics competition at Chipping Campden School. The first activity we did was the girls and the boys obstacle course; both came second in this event.
Next we did the field events. They were speed bounce, soft javelin, triple jump, standing high jump, standing long jump and chest push. Both the boys and girls did it separately. We all did very well and we all enjoyed the ones we were assigned to.
Next we did track events, they were: one by one (a two person relay doing one lap each), two by two (a two person relay doing two laps each) and finally four by one (a four person relay doing one lap each). Again the boys and the girls did separate races. Each activity you did earned a certain amount of points which all added up to our final score.
Overall we came second. Therefore we qualified for the bigger competition in January.
Special thanks to Mr Rhys and Mrs Heywood for taking us, Chipping Campden school, their sports leaders for hosting and helping with the competition and finally all the schools who competed.
