Traders and Raiders

Term 2 saw the Eagle classes venturing off to the time of Anglo Saxons and Vikings.

Big and strong, powerful and brave, the Saxons wave their battle axes and brandish their swords as they begin to invade Britain's shores.

Sail back to the Dark Ages, where battles were rife and fear reigned. Find out about the life of the Saxons, including how they lived and where they came from. Meet the bloodthirsty Vikings from Scandinavia - never before had such terror swept the land.

Our theme for Term 1 was

'Never in his life had he seen a river before-this sleek, sinuous, full-bodied animal, chasing and chuckling, gripping things with a gurgle and leaving them with a laugh, to fling itself on fresh playmates that shook themselves free, and were caught and held again.'

Extract from 'The Wind in the Willows'

We learnt about rivers. Our writing was based around a range of texts, including 'The Wind in the Willows' and 'A River'.

Our Value this term is Truthfulness. Proverbs 12:22 'The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.' Enquiring minds, caring hearts, creatibe hands
