Welcome to St. David's C of E Primary School.
We are a busy, friendly school, which aims to foster a love of learning in all of our children...and staff! This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.
Our school motto is ‘enquiring minds, caring hearts, creative hands’, which is at the heart of everything we do. Children attending the school will become life-long learners who are curious about the world around them and are creative in their exploits while caring for others and themselves. The school motto, combined with the Christian values, will provide a strong basis from which the children will develop into responsible, thoughtful, active members of society.
Values Education underpins all aspects of our school life and gives staff and pupils the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the values in life that they believe in. St. David's C of E Primary School has 12 values which are taught in a two-year cycle and we learn to understand what each value looks like in practice and how we can demonstrate the value in the way we behave, in our attitude towards each other and in our learning. Parents are encouraged to develop the termly value at home and in school we recognise children who display the value in focus in our celebration assemblies.
We know that the primary years are significant in the development of every child and the parents and carers at St. David’s C of E Primary School have entrusted us with a considerable responsibility. We endeavour to do our best for all our children, whilst remembering that each and every one is different and special in some way.
The children in school enjoy an exciting curriculum which presents them with lots of opportunites to build upon their strengths and improve the areas of learning which they find more difficult. We use visits and visitors to enhance educational experiences and recently the children have built moon buggies with Land Rover, been introduced to Roman soldiers, visited Cadbury World and enjoyed a trip to Kenilworth Castle. You can find out more by visiting our class pages.
Our school has very strong links with St. David's Church with many of the church team coming into school on a regular basis. Mr Wookey, the Rector, takes assemblies on a Wednesday. Claire Mason and her team run our after school Christian club and the Open the Book team present bible stories, in a very lively fashion, to the children on a Thursday morning.
