Girls' Floorball team hits the headlines
The following article has appeared in The Cotswold Journal today and we are very proud of the girls' Floorball team:
Four teams have made the Cotswold Floorball League girls' semi-finals.
Ilmington, St. Catharine's, St. David's and Bourton-on-the-Water are through to the semis although the latter two or Willersey could fill one direct final place.
St. David's sat top after starting the latest round with Megan Jones scoring all the goals in a 6-0 win over St James. Keeper Amelia Hancox made critical saves and did not concede a goal all night. Against Ilmington, St. Davids missed some experience but Samara McPhail was drafted in to set up Jones for the only goal.
At the other end of the table, Blockley continued their improvement, beating Dormer House 4-0 through Indigo Blyth, Freya Aylmore (2) and Emily Fisher.
Blockley also played unbeaten St. Catharine's and Freya Watts tucked home the opener only for Emily Curtis to level. St. James and Dormer House played for the wooden spoon with Saints triumphing 2-0 thanks to Jasmin Candlin's double. Willersey kept up their challenge with Kyra Bostock netting five times as they beat Dormer House 3-0 and St. Catharine's 2-0. They must win their last two matches to reach the final. St. Catharine's claimed their semi place with a 2-0 win over St. James through Emily Curtis and Maria McCann. They also drew 0-0 with fellow qualifiers Ilmington as Daniella McCann made vital saves for Saints. Ilmington clinched their semi-final spot when they defeated Dormer House 2-0 thanks to Minnie Thomas and Aurora Sampson.
