   Welcome to Ural Class

Mrs S.Green - Class teacher

Mrs J.Dolman - Teaching assistant

A siren sounds, a building crumbles, a spitfire zooms overhead.  Take cover! It's 1939 and Britain is at war.  Deep down in the Anderson shelter, learn why nations are fighting and why child evacuees must make the long journey from their homes and families into unknown territory.

Make do and mend- and cook up a family meal from meagre rations!

Watch this space...

Down Under was the title of our theme for the second half of the Spring term.  We went  on an adventure around Australia to find out about the places, lifestyle and culture of this amazing country. From bustling city life to the quiet sleepy outback, we discovered it all!  We were very  busy!

Don't forget our Theme Event on Tuesday 28th February at 9:00 am.  We will be outside for this event so appropriate footwear will be necessary.

Our theme last term was

Frozen Kingdom

Welcome to the planet's coldest lands...vast wilds, hostile territories, incredibly beautiful yet often deadly.  Take shelter from the elements or fall prey to icy winds and deepest chill.  Trek bravely and valiantly across treacherous terrain to the ends of the Earth, treading deeply in the snow or pulled by a team of mighty sled dogs.

Be alert, for magnificent mammals roam these lands, sometimes hungry or fresh for a fight.  Perhaps a hungry polar bear or an arctic fox will pass by.
We will be researching these frozen lands and also finding out about the voyage of the Titanic and the expeditions of some incredibly brave explorers.

Our theme in Autumn 2 was

Darwin's Delights.

We're off on an exciting expedition with Charles Darwin and his crew on HMS Beagle.  We will be tracing his route across the vast ocean, stopping at the Galapagos Islands to see the amazing species that helped Darwin develop his theory of Evolution by natural selection.  We will be finding out how animals adapt to their environment over time and we will meet some of the world's greatest explorers and naturalists.

We have the visit from the space dome on Monday 7th November where we will be finding out more about evolution.

Our theme in Autumn Term One was Ancient Egypt...

We will be travelling back in time 5,000 years to enter the world of mysteries, curses, mummies and Kings. We will cruise along the Nile and find out about life on the  river's fertile banks.  We will also unravel the secrets of ancient tombs and find out about powerful pharaohs and grandiose gods.
