History

We aim to give children an awareness of the past and how it is different from the present. We provide opportunities for children to develop a sense of chronology and equip them with the ability to explore some of the ways historians find out about the past. The focus in our teaching is for children to know and understand history from the earliest of times to the present day.

By the time children leave St-David's they will have an understanding of how their lives are affected by the events of the past; a knowledge of the sequence of key events; an understanding of historical concepts; an ability to question sources and accounts; as well as a thorough enjoyment of the subject.
